Leonarda Montilla, 104, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Pablo Abreu.
Born in Higuey, Dominican Republic, she was a daughter of the late Julio and Encarnacion (Ramirez) Montilla.
She and her husband were proprietors of a convenience store in Olympic Villa in Santo Domingo for many years.
She and her family emigrated to the United States in 2004 and made her home with her daughter Nancy Y. Bencosme, her husband German and their children Kevin and Kaylin.
Besides her daughter Nancy, she is also survived by her children Secuntino Abreu, Colasa Abreu, Felix Abreu Montilla, Victoria Abreu, Rosario Presbot, Ines Colon, her husband Jesus, Nancy Y. Bensosme, her husband German, sixteen grandchildren, over 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Antonio Abreu Montilla
Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 22nd 2023 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 179 Academy Ave., Providence at 10am. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
